Rafting in Colorado is very dependent on the previous winter’s snowmelt. Season start and end dates can vary some based on water levels and location.

• Clear Creek Rafting – early May through late August
• Upper Colorado Rafting – early May through September
• Arkansas River Rafting – early May through September

Yes, we must have a signed waiver from every participant. All participants aged 18 or older must sign their own waiver.

All participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver for them.

Guests should dress in clothing that they are comfortable to get wet in. We do not recommend wearing cotton because it does not insulate when wet. Wool and synthetic materials are ideal.

On our Clear Creek rafting trips, we offer wetsuits and splash jackets, with the option to rent or buy footwear. Guests are welcome to wear their own footwear, provided that it is adequate for the activity.

On the Colorado River rafting trips, we provide splash jackets free of charge. Guests can wear their own footwear if it is adequate and we do have water shoes available for purchase in our store.

Yes, our age recommendations are as follows for rafting trips:

• Middle Clear Creek Rafting (Beginner) – ages 5 and up
• Upper Clear Creek Rafting (Intermediate) – ages 13 and up
• Lower Clear Creek Rafting (Advanced) – ages 16 and up
• Colorado River Float Trip (Beginner) – ages 3 and up
• Gore Canyon Rafting (Advanced) – ages 16 and up

For fishing trips, age restrictions are:

• Colorado Float Fishing Trips – ages 12 and up
• Walk & Wade Guided Fishing Trips – ages 10 and up

It is ideal to have experience for our advanced trip options. However, we take first-timers on both our beginner and intermediate-level runs. Participants on our intermediate and advanced level trips should have the ability to swim.

We allow cancellations up to 48 hours before the trip date, to receive a 90% refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the trip date are not eligible for refunds. Our trips operate rain or shine.

Our trips operate rain or shine. We offer splash jackets for those who would like to stay on the drier side. We tend to get a bit wet rafting anyway so rain is not so big a deal and can often add to the adventure. We do not offer refunds or cancellations for rain.

Yes, but you’ll be equipped with wetsuits and/or splash jackets. You are welcome to bring additional layers to add to what is provided. Early in the season, the water is primarily melted snow. As summer goes on though, you might not need a wetsuit — and we’re guessing you may even want to take a dip!

It does happen occasionally, but it’s not very common. In most cases, you’ll be quickly pulled back into the boat by your professional river guide. But don’t worry — we cover this in our safety orientation at the beginning of each tour.
